So those are the books I read this month! If you have any questions about my ratings do let me know. I was quite happy with seventeen books, but not necessarily the ones I picked. I feel like lots of them were let downs.
Standouts were … She Is Not Invisible and Raven Boys. She Is Not Invisible was a gorgeous book about a blind girl and it was positively delicious. Raven Boys was much better than I expected and wonderfully written. Highly recommend both these.
NaNoWriMo starts today!
Am I prepared? No.
Am I going to fail epically? Probably.
But I am determined to have fun, and I think that that’s the point, isn’t it.

a little word garden 
She Is Not Invisible has been on my shelf for ages, but I haven’t picked it up yet! I really should though. It’s by one of my favourite authors, although the book’s size is a little funky. It’s like 2/3rds the size of a normal paperback book? Not really sure why it’s like that. I have read a little bit of the raven boys, but it just didn’t really stick with me all that well. It seems like a book that I would love but just . . . meh. I seem to be the odd one out on this though!

I know right, the size is just SOOO weird! I kind of like the uniqueness of it though – not that it would fit anywhere on my shelf. Libraries are useful things.
OH and you should definitely read it, it’s really good! (or at least I thought so. Now that I think of it, it could be one of those books where everyone has a different opinion on it. I personally enjoyed it because of the uniqueness of the main character (the cover just adds to the unique feel of the book) and because of the way that the issues were dealt with. It was nice to have a none-whiny protagonist, too.) If you do read it I would love to know your thoughts 🙂 I haven’t read any of his other books, but after that book I kinda want to!
And Raven Boys – I get what you mean. I think the reason I liked it so much was because it was such a change from the usual run of YA in its writing style – it wasn’t prose. (and I really can’t stand prosey books if they’re not well done. just… meh.)
